We currently include over 1800 events in the rankings. If an event is using our software for their scheduling we can guarantee their inclusion in the rankings, as all of their data is stored in our system & feeds directly into the rankings. For events that do not use our software we do our best to include them when possible.
All non-GotSoccer event data is manually entered by our staff. The event must post all their results on their website using complete club & team names. Our staff will enter the teams that played in each flight along with their placements. We do not enter game scores for non-GotSoccer events, once the event is entered in our system, teams can update their games' scores via their GotSoccer team accounts.
We can only guarantee the inclusion of an event if they are using the GotSoccer software. While we try our best to include as many events as possible, we cannot guarantee that any non-GotSoccer event will be included.
GotSoccer Events are guaranteed to be included in the Rankings.
The event needs to enter all their results before we can rank it. If an event used our software and does not post the complete results within their account, it might delay the ranking of the event or we may not be able to rank it.
Non-Gotsoccer Events are not guaranteed to be included in the Rankings
All data is manually entered by our staff for Non-GotSoccer events, meaning there is a time factor that prevents us being able to include every event that provides scores. We only include a list of attending teams and the placement for teams that are eligible for points.
When an event does not use GotSoccer scheduling software, we are only able to rank a limited number of flights for that event.
Non-Competitive & Recreational Events
We only include competitive play. Any event or flight labeled as Recreational or Non-Competitive will not be included in the rankings. Any event using the Jamboree or Festival format will not be included in the rankings.
Small-Sided Events & Flights
We include the following formats for each age group:
U11: 6v6 or larger
U12: 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11
U13-U19: 11v11
Event Formats
If an event uses a format that makes it hard to establish a specific group of competition or a specific champion then we may not be able to include them. Examples of this include:
- Large league flights in Non-GotSoccer events where teams do not compete against at least 75% of the teams in their flight.
- Large tournament flights in Non-GotSoccer events without playoffs where there is not a complete round-robin format used (i.e. - each team competes against every other team in their bracket or flight).
Events using formats like this are difficult to rank as we cannot establish an accurate flight value, since the teams are grouped into much larger flights. The flight value is determined by the top 5 teams in a flight, and if there are 15-20+ teams in that flight with no playoff, there is no way to accurately establish which of the teams in that flight competed against the teams contributing to the flight value.
If the event uses our software we are able to rank this as we have the complete schedule & scores in the system. Our system has a feature that allows us to calculate team-specific flight values for an event based on the competition that team faced in that event. It looks at the matches and the teams they played against to establish a flight value.
Game Minimum Requirement
A non-GotSoccer event will only be included in the rankings if it uses a format of at least 3 or more games per team. If the event only offers 2 games per team it will not be ranked.
A GotSoccer event that offers at least 2 games will be included in the rankings, but the percentage of points available for each placement will be reduced. We do not award a full 100% of the available flight value to the champion when a team competes in only two matches.
Game Lengths Included in the Rankings
We prefer to only include events that use the standard game times outlined by USYSA for each age group. However we realize that many events have to shorten matches due to weather & other unforeseen circumstances. In order for an event to be included in the rankings each game much offer a minimum of two 25 minute halves. This applies to all age groups in the rankings. Events using games that are shorter than this length will not be eligible for inclusion in the rankings.
